Homeowner and
business property insurance policies are in
place to protect property owners from liability
and property damage. However, the policy
language has become increasingly complex with
several exceptions to coverage due to wind storm
and hurricane losses in Florida in the past
several years. In addition, there are
exceptions to policies regarding water damage
depending on how the damage occurred and
exceptions when owners do not reside in their
second or third home. As a result, disputes
relating to coverage in both residential and
commercial policies have been increasing in the
past several years.
Mr. Nielander has
been handling property damage mediations as an
appointed mediator for Florida Department of
Financial Services (DFS) and as a private
mediator for several years. In addition, as
an attorney since 1984, he has been involved in
property insurance disputes. As a result,
Mr. Nielander is well prepared to handle
property damage disputes. |
